The Cantonese Club

The ornate decorative style is much favored by the Cantonese-and they went all out in this clubhouse. There are several equally spectacular rooms in addition to the one dominated by the peacock window and the one with the trellised and embossed plaster walls pictured here.

The clubhouse is now part of a modern guesthouse complex. An elaborate, begrimed and now dry fountain sits forlornly at the edge of the large concrete parking lot which surrounds the building.
